Taylor Swift made a surprise appearance during Dakota Johnson’s opening monologue on Saturday Night Live, joining the actress as she hosted the programme from NBC’s Studio 8H.
Johnson, who appeared on stage in a red latex dress, referred to the public break-ups she has experienced with Role Model and Chris Martin since her previous stint as host.
She credited her friends with helping her through those separations, before turning to Swift, who had arrived to support her Patient Zero co-star.
Johnson called the singer “her therapist”, prompting Swift to reply that she was not her therapist. Swift then said the actress simply turned up at her house once a week and had to be driven home by the pop star’s security team.
Johnson and Swift have also worked together on Swift’s music video for Patient Zero, in which Johnson stars alongside Colin Farrell.
It was not immediately clear whether Swift would appear in any further sketches during the episode.
