Harry Kane is close to agreeing a new contract with Bayern Munich, a development that would further diminish Tottenham’s hopes of re-signing their former striker.
Transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano said negotiations involving Kane, his brother Charlie and the Bundesliga club were progressing well, with the financial terms understood to be nearly settled.

“For Harry Kane, the negotiations and talks between Harry Kane, his brother Charlie, and Bayern over new deal are proceeding very well,” Romano said on his channel.
He added that the remaining discussions centred on the length of the agreement and contractual clauses, rather than the financial details.
“It’s about the length of the contract, how many years, how to sort that clause Harry Kane had in his contract for a Premier League return, for Tottenham matching rights,” Romano said.
Romano said the two parties still had elements to clarify but indicated that an agreement was increasingly likely.
“So, they have something to clarify in terms of clauses, in terms of length of the contract, but already being almost there financially there, I think it’s a big news for Bayern, so really, really getting closer,” he said.
“I think it’s happening. It’s very close.”
The reported progress is likely to frustrate Tottenham, who have been linked with a possible return for Kane. The striker’s existing contractual provisions concerning a Premier League return and Tottenham’s matching rights are among the issues still being discussed.
