Two people were injured when a gunman opened fire during an argument in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighbourhood, police said.
The shooting happened at about 4pm on Monday, September 7, near the junction of Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue, as West Indian Day Parade festivities were taking place in the area.
Investigators said two people were arguing when one of them drew a gun and fired several rounds towards the other. A 37-year-old woman was struck in the ankle, while a 19-year-old man suffered a graze to his foot.
The shooter fled west along Eastern Parkway and remained at large, according to the New York Police Department. Police have released an image of the suspect as they appeal for help identifying him.
Emergency medical crews took the woman to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where she was expected to recover. The injured man did not require hospital treatment.
