Tyler Hynes will host a free screening of his Hallmark Channel film The Nights Before Christmas at the Vancouver cinema where it was filmed.
The event will take place at the Park Theatre in Vancouver, British Columbia, on November 14 at 12pm Pacific time. The film is due to premiere on Hallmark Channel at 8pm Eastern time that evening, making the screening approximately five hours earlier.
Hynes announced the plans in an Instagram post, saying he wanted to celebrate the cast and crew with the people who support their work.
“On November 14th at 12pm PST, I’ve rented the Park Theatre in Vancouver, BC to celebrate the cast and crew of The Nights Before Christmas by watching the film with the people who love them, you,” he wrote.
He added that the audience would watch the film “where we filmed”, describing the venue as a boutique theatre where much of the movie takes place.
Tickets will be free but limited. They will be released on October 29 at 12pm Pacific time, with Hynes directing fans to use the promotional code “TY” when claiming a place.
“This isn’t a fancy organized event,” Hynes said. “This is just a guy, who wants to thank a group of artist, so he purchased an afternoon to do just that and saved a few seats for as many of you as possible.”
The Nights Before Christmas plot
In the film, Hynes plays Marty, a man whose life is in a rut and who finds himself reliving Christmas Eve repeatedly after wishing he had more time.
As he adjusts to the strange holiday magic, Marty learns new instruments and languages, reads every book and begins to notice the sights and people around him. He then falls for Chloe, a journalist played by Laci J Mailey, who does not remember him when each new Christmas Eve begins.
Marty must find a way to win Chloe over and discover what he needs to do to reach Christmas Day, ideally with her by his side.
