Bad Bunny, BTS and Ella Langley were among the major winners at the MTV Video Music Awards, while Madonna emerged as the ceremony’s dominant figure with seven wins.
Bad Bunny took Best Latin for NUEVAYoL, beating entries from Anitta and Shakira, Fuerza Regida, Karol G, Rosalía, Ryan Castro, Kapo and Gangsta, and Shakira and Burna Boy.
BTS won Best K-Pop with Swim. The group was up against Blackpink, Cortis, Katseye, Le Sserafim and Lisa.
Ella Langley claimed Best Country for Choosin’ Texas, ahead of Kacey Musgraves, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Shaboozey, Stella Lefty and Tucker Wetmore.
Madonna leads the video awards
Madonna’s Confessions II (The Film) won Best Cinematography and Best Choreography. The film also shared Best Visual Effects with Ariana Grande’s Hate That I Made You Love Me.
Taylor Swift won Best Direction for Opalite, seeing off videos by Grande, Bruno Mars, Gener8ion, Madonna and Sabrina Carpenter.
Carpenter secured Best Editing for House Tour, while PinkPantheress and Zara Larsson won Best Art Direction for Stateside.
The other Best Visual Effects nominees were Jisoo and Zayn, Raye and Taylor Swift. Best Art Direction also included entries from Charli XCX, Lady Gaga and Doechii, Madonna, Sombr and Swift.
The remaining nominees for Best Cinematography were Grande, A$AP Rocky, Lisa, Shaboozey and Swift, while the Best Choreography category also featured Gener8ion, Harry Styles, Katseye, Tate McRae and Swift.
