National Coffee Day is being marked across the US on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with major chains offering free drinks, reduced-price coffees and limited-edition products to customers.
The promotions range from complimentary brewed coffee to discounted speciality drinks, although several offers require customers to use a loyalty scheme or mobile app. Some are also restricted to participating branches and may be subject to availability.
National Coffee Day 2026 deals
Circle K customers can claim a free medium hot or iced coffee through the Circle K app at participating locations. The offer is limited to one drink per customer and requires membership of the chain’s rewards programme.
Dunkin’ Rewards members can receive a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase made through the Dunkin’ app. The chain is also marking the day with the launch of its collaboration with outdoor retailer L.L.Bean, including a limited-edition coffee tote available while stocks last.
At Pilot, Flying J and One9 travel centres, customers can redeem a free hot coffee of any size without making another purchase. The offer is available at more than 900 locations across North America through the Pilot app.
Peet’s Coffee is offering medium drip coffee for 25 cents on September 29, while Paris Baguette Rewards members can receive a free medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase.
Krispy Kreme is combining its promotion with the launch of an Original Glazed coffee-flavoured doughnut. Customers can buy a dozen for $5 when purchasing another dozen at the regular price, with the offer running from September 26 to September 29. The chain is also offering a free small or medium hot or iced coffee with any purchase on National Coffee Day at participating US shops. Einstein Bros. Bagels is giving customers a free iced coffee of any size and flavour with any purchase. The offer includes the limited-time Crème Brûlée flavour and can be claimed in-store without a loyalty membership or digital coupon.
Huddle House and Perkins are also offering free coffee with a purchase at participating restaurants. DQ, meanwhile, is selling small Coffee Coolers for $3 through November 1, with Oreo, Salted Caramel and Toasted Marshmallow among the newly introduced flavours.
Gopuff’s promotion runs from September 28 to October 4 and includes discounts on selected packaged drinks and coffee products, including La Colombe canned lattes, Death Wish Coffee and Groundwork Coffee.
Shipley Do-nuts is awarding bonus loyalty points on purchases from September 28 to October 18 as part of National Coffee Day and its 90th birthday celebrations. Firebirds Wood Fired Grill is highlighting the occasion with three coffee-based cocktails: Flannel Pajamas, Fired Up Coffee and Hazelnut-Vanilla Java.
Starbucks is not advertising a nationwide free-coffee promotion but is introducing a new iced espresso drink, the Aerocano, on September 29. The beverage is made with Blonde Espresso and ice, which are air-whipped to create a light foam and cascading effect. Three Mini Pies – Apple Crumble, Pecan and Pumpkin – are also joining the autumn menu.
