Lamine Yamal scored inside the opening two minutes to give Spain an early lead against England in their Nations League clash at Wembley.
The Barcelona forward capitalised on an error from England defender Marc Guehi, who was caught in possession in a dangerous area. Yamal pressured him, won the ball and finished into the far corner.

Guehi appeared unaware of the threat behind him and took too long to find a pass, allowing Yamal to take advantage. The mistake proved costly against a Spain side capable of punishing even brief lapses in concentration.
The early goal leaves England facing a difficult contest, although there is still ample time for them to recover. Spain’s start, however, underlined the danger posed by Yamal and the need for the Three Lions to remain alert.
England have struggled to convince in major matches in recent times, while Spain beat them in the Euro 2024 final. Spain went on to win the World Cup this summer, making games of this nature an important test for England as they seek to reach that level.
