Zahara Marley Jolie has legally removed Pitt from her surname, becoming the latest of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s children to take the step.
Court documents show a California judge approved the 21-year-old’s petition without objection. She will now be known as Zahara Marley Jolie rather than Zahara Marley Jolie-Pitt.
Zahara filed the petition in June, around the same time as her brother Maddox took steps to remove Pitt from his surname. Both siblings later confirmed their intentions through legal notices published in the Los Angeles Daily Journal in July, in line with California law.
Pitt and Jolie have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox.
Since the couple’s separation, Shiloh, Maddox, Vivienne and Zahara have all dropped Pitt from their surnames.
Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016, after two years of marriage and 12 years together. Their lengthy divorce was finalised in December 2024.
Legal disputes have continued since the split, including a battle over the former couple’s French winery, while the family’s estrangements have also attracted public attention.
