Adam Brody has voiced his support for the Free Palestine movement, saying he considers the conflict between Israel and Gaza to be “a genocide”.
The Nobody Wants This star made the comments in an interview with GQ, while discussing whether Hollywood had become more conservative in recent years.
Brody, who plays a rabbi in the Netflix series alongside Kristen Bell, said the pandemic, Donald Trump’s second term and the Israel-Gaza conflict had exposed beliefs that he had previously been unaware of and found disheartening.
Asked to speak about Israel and Palestine, he said: “Put me down as thinking it’s a genocide. Put me down as wanting a free Palestine. It’s awful that it’s taken so much death and misery, but it does feel like it’s reaching a breaking point that it should have a while ago.”
He added: “I’m hopeful that another administration can really do some good and correct some of these policies that are helping that situation be as awful as it is.”
Nobody Wants This is due to return for a third season on October 22.
