The Alexander brothers have each been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for sex trafficking after being convicted of exploiting women and sexually assaulting them over more than a decade.
Alon and Oren Alexander, both 39, and their 40-year-old brother Tal were also given 10 years of supervised release. The brothers had denied the charges and pleaded not guilty.
US District Judge Valerie Caproni described their conduct as “monstrous” during a six-hour sentencing hearing in New York. She said witnesses had credibly described “sadistic, misogynistic sexual predators” and that the evidence showed the brothers had administered drugs surreptitiously.
Prosecutors had accused the men of using their wealth, social status and connections to lure and sexually assault women, including two teenagers. They said the brothers had raped or sexually assaulted at least 70 women, with the alleged abuse beginning as early as 2001 or 2002.
The brothers were convicted in March on all 10 charges brought against them, including conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and multiple counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion.
Women who addressed the court described lasting trauma. Bela Koval said her first visit to the Hamptons had become “a nightmare”, while Lindsey Acree told Oren Alexander that “a life sentence doesn’t even begin to cover” the harm caused.
A woman who gave the name Isa Brooks said she had been raped by Tal and Alon Alexander and their friends when she was 16. “The reverberations of this have lasted half my life,” she said. “It radically altered the trajectory of my life.”
Katie Moore described the brothers as “hardened criminals with no remorse” and said Alon and Tal had continued a casual conversation while Alon raped her. “We are not disposable. And they are not untouchable,” she told the court.
The women and prosecutors had asked for the maximum sentences, while defence lawyers sought 15 years. Caproni said she was unsure whether the brothers should be imprisoned together, adding that she did not have the expertise to determine whether they should be separated.
Before their arrests in December 2024, Alon and Oren Alexander had become prominent luxury property brokers in New York, Los Angeles and Miami, where they were known as “The A Team”. Tal held an executive position at the family’s private security firm after graduating from law school.
Prosecutors alleged that the brothers targeted women, drugged them and assaulted them after they became incapacitated, sometimes taking photographs during the attacks. During the trial, defence lawyers argued that the encounters were consensual and that the men’s inappropriate conversations did not amount to criminal conduct.
Speaking in court, Oren Alexander said: “My brothers and I have never drugged and raped anyone or conspired to harm.” He said he was ashamed of how he had behaved.
Alon Alexander also denied the allegations, saying: “I’m not a perfect man, but I’m innocent of these charges. I’ve never raped or trafficked anyone.”
