Dr Shota Musayev, a fellow passenger who treated the injured captain, will also be honoured. Americans are becoming less willing to hear chief executives speak out on social and political issues, with support for corporate advocacy falling sharply since 2018, a Stanford University survey has found. Those who do want executives to speak out increasingly favour comments linked directly to a company’s business, such as the environment, sustainability, clean air and water, and artificial intelligence. CEOs face growing risks when taking public positions…

Tottenham’s unbeaten start has placed them second in the Women’s Super League, and Olivia Holdt believes the club’s upcoming meetings with London City Lionesses, Chelsea and Arsenal will show whether they can sustain a Tottenham WSL title challenge. Spurs have won their opening matches without defeat, scoring 15 goals and conceding only twice. They are three points behind leaders Manchester City and one point clear of London City ahead of Sunday’s fixture. Holdt has already made a significant contribution, scoring a hat-trick in Tottenham’s 7-0 victory over Crystal Palace. The Denmark international described the achievement as “special”, but insisted the…

The plaintiffs – Cary Lopez, Javier Ramirez and Angel Piña – had already brought legal action against the federal government, but their lawyers updated the complaints to rely on the new law. Andy Burnham has been criticised after saying he would be “really concerned” if Manchester City’s Abu Dhabi owners sold the club, shortly after the Premier League confirmed that the club had been found to have committed serious financial breaches. The Greater Manchester mayor said the City Football Group had been “such a huge partner in the building of modern Manchester” and had helped turn Manchester City into “the global force that it is”. His comments prompted accusations that he was prioritising investment over the integrity of English football. The Premier League said the club had used a series of “sham”…

Dow futures fell to a three-month low as a surge in bond yields weighed on market sentiment, although stronger-than-expected support from Micron’s earnings helped limit the decline. The move in futures reflected pressure on the Dow ahead of the market opening, with rising yields emerging as the main drag. Micron’s results provided a counterpoint for investors and offered support to the wider market. The contrasting forces left investors balancing concerns over higher yields against the boost from the chipmaker’s earnings.
