Bangkok has been declared a disaster zone after relentless rain caused widespread flooding across the Thai capital, with roads submerged and up to 300 millimetres recorded in some areas.
The volume of water overwhelmed Bangkok’s canals and drainage system, leaving the city struggling to cope with the flooding.
