Bomberry chocolate-covered blueberries and raspberries have been recalled across Australia over fears that some products may contain metal or other foreign objects.
The recall covers four 150g varieties sold at Woolworths and independent food retailers, including IGA, Harris Farm and Drakes supermarkets, as well as online.
All best-before dates up to and including January 20, 2028 are affected. The products are blueberries with Belgian dark chocolate in a green tub; blueberries with Belgian white and milk chocolate in a blue tub; raspberries with Belgian white and dark chocolate in a purple tub; and raspberries with Belgian white and milk chocolate in a yellow tub.
The company said it issued the alert after “identifying a potential risk of foreign objects in some products”. Food Standards Australia New Zealand warned that consuming the affected snacks could cause illness or injury.
Consumers have been advised not to eat the products and to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund. Anyone concerned about their health should seek medical advice.
Bomberry founders Mel and Mike said the company was committed to producing quality snacks and valued its customers’ trust.
“We started Bomberry because we love making really good snacks,” they said. “And making sure they’re safe for the people enjoying them will always come first.”
They added: “We know this isn’t the news anyone wants to hear, and we’re really sorry for the concern and inconvenience this may cause.”
