Celebrity Halloween decorations have been more restrained this year, with a UK pumpkin shortage appearing to temper the lavish displays usually showcased by stars including Molly-Mae Hague, Stacey Solomon and Gemma Collins.
Instead of elaborate pumpkin patches and extravagant props, several celebrities have opted for smaller autumnal touches at home. Interiors expert Jordana Ashkenazi has rated the results, from understated to more accomplished seasonal styling.
Celebrity Halloween decorations rated
Molly-Mae Hague offered followers a glimpse inside her Cheshire home on Instagram Stories, describing the atmosphere as having “Cosy levels are HIGH.” Her coffee table featured a pumpkin snow globe, plush toys, a cinnamon candle and a book of incantations.
Ceramic ghosts were arranged on the mantelpiece, while knitted pumpkins sat on a window tray. A light-up resin display featuring Frankenstein, the Bride of Frankenstein, a ghost and Dracula completed the look.
Ms Ashkenazi gave the 27-year-old influencer’s autumnal décor 2.5 out of five.
The strongest rating went to Gemma Collins, who received four out of five for her “Autumn at Casa GC” display at her £1.3 million home in Chelmsford.
The former TOWIE star documented the addition of garlands, fig leaf candles and a four-tier stack of resin jack-o’-lanterns. She told followers that “making a house a home is something I LOVE” and that “interiors are my thing”.
Mrs Hinch also scored four out of five after transforming the entrance to her house for autumn. A leaf wreath was placed on the door, beside a scarecrow sitting on a bale of hay, while a “Hello pumpkin” doormat and baskets of colourful leaves added further seasonal detail.
Stacey Solomon’s display was limited largely to the staircase of the new Essex home she shares with Joe Swash. The couple recently left Pickle Cottage for the £2 million property, where renovations have taken priority.
The presenter decorated the old-fashioned wooden staircase with maple leaf garlands, wreaths, lanterns and carved pumpkins. The arrangement earned two out of five.
Luisa Zissman also received two out of five after preparing her Dubai mansion for Halloween. The Apprentice star decorated a golf cart used around the property with spider webs and gravestones, while her daughters Indigo and Clementine looked at the display.
Petra Ecclestone opted for a more imposing feature outside her Dubai mansion: a large animated inferno scarecrow. Gothic window decorations incorporating foliage, moss and skulls, along with pumpkins, completed the display.
Her decorations were rated three out of five.
Alice Naylor-Leyland hosted the season’s most elaborate gathering at Stibbington House, the Cambridgeshire country home she shares with her husband Tom Leyland and their four children.
The founder of homeware brand Mrs Alice dressed as a devil for the party, wearing a black corset, a tulle skirt and horns. Her tablescape included an orange tablecloth, stuffed owls, skulls and pumpkins, with skeletons suspended above the table.
Guests included Gucci executive Arabella Musgrave, who dated Prince William, and Marina Lambton, the Countess of Durham. Naylor-Leyland, who is close to the York princesses, was given a rating of two out of five by Ms Ashkenazi.
Naylor-Leyland launched her interiors brand with her mother, Serena Fresson, initially selling a product described as a “tablescape in a box”. The range included placemats, linens, table decorations and Christmas crackers, and has since involved collaborations with Marie Chantal of Greece, Poppy Delevingne and Erin O’Connor.
Across the displays, the emphasis has been on autumnal styling rather than the large-scale Halloween scenes seen in previous years, as celebrities adapt their homes and outdoor spaces amid the shortage of pumpkins in the UK.
