Sophie Ellis-Bextor will headline the music programme at HSBC SVNS Perth in February 2027, making an exclusive Australian appearance at the two-day rugby sevens event.
The “Murder on the Dancefloor” singer, 47, will perform at HBF Park on Saturday February 6, leading the entertainment on a weekend featuring the world’s best men’s and women’s teams.
Ellis-Bextor last performed in Perth in February this year, and said she was looking forward to returning after the reception she received at Northbridge’s Icecream Factory.
“I can’t wait to get back to Perth and sing and dance with all of my friends in WA!” she said.
Australian electronic duo Sneaky Sound System will close the entertainment programme on the Sunday.
Both headliners, along with several other DJs, will perform in the Party Stand, an intimate, boiler-room-style area where artists will be positioned among fans rather than on a raised stage.
The 2027 event will have a Go Tropical theme, with visitors able to enjoy the DJ-led Castaway Club beach party zone and Palm Paradise, a food and drink area shaded by trees and oversized timber palms. International food options and luxury packages will also be available.
Western Australia Premier Roger Cook said the event was expected to draw visitors from across the country and encouraged them to spend time exploring the state.
“HSBC SVNS Perth is a highlight of Western Australia’s summer events calendar, bringing world-class sport, music and an incredible atmosphere to the heart of Perth,” Mr Cook said.
“An Australian-exclusive performance from Sophie Ellis-Bextor gives visitors from across the country one more reason to book the trip. We’re encouraging everyone to make a holiday of it: arrive early or stay on, and explore our beaches, Rottnest Island, the Swan Valley and everything else that makes WA the dream state.”
