Chicago was set for a brisk start to the weekend on Saturday, 26 September, with sunshine expected to accompany cooler temperatures across the area.
Fox Chicago meteorologist Mark Strehl said conditions could make it feel like “hoodie weather”, although the afternoon was forecast to turn pleasantly mild. Most of the city and surrounding areas were expected to reach the upper 60s Fahrenheit, with temperatures possibly touching the low 70s in outlying suburbs.
The forecast high was close to the seasonal norm of about 72F. Despite a weather system positioned to the west, no rain was expected in Chicago on Saturday, although cloud cover could gradually increase later in the day.
Sunday was likely to bring similar temperatures, ranging from the upper 60s to the low 70s. A few early showers or sprinkles were possible before brighter spells developed.
