A private jet carrying six people has gone missing near Nantucket while travelling from Bermuda to Boston, prompting a search by the US Coast Guard.
The Federal Aviation Administration alerted the Coast Guard early on Saturday after losing contact with the Gulfstream aircraft, which was being used as a medical transfer aircraft.
Air and surface crews have been sent to search for the plane near Nantucket, an island south of mainland Massachusetts.
The aircraft departed from LF Wade International Airport in Bermuda on a late-night flight bound for Boston Logan International Airport. The journey was expected to take nearly two hours.
Weather conditions in Nantucket were reported to be clear on Saturday morning.
