Liverpool are considering a January transfer move for Boca Juniors’ teenage attacking midfielder Tomas Aranda, with an offer of around €9 million reportedly being planned.
The 19-year-old has been on the club’s radar for some time, and Liverpool are understood to be keen to act early in the winter window to avoid competition from other leading clubs.
Liverpool assess Tomas Aranda as further attacking option
Aranda has been part of Boca Juniors’ first team since the start of the year and has already represented Argentina. He is currently sidelined with an injury but has made 32 senior appearances for the club, contributing four goals.
The teenager generally operates as a No 10, although he is capable of playing in a variety of positions across the final third. That versatility, alongside his potential, has made him an appealing target for Liverpool.
Liverpool strengthened their attacking options during the summer with the arrivals of Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola, but remain interested in adding further quality in the final third.
Aranda is considered to be available for a relatively modest fee of €9 million. Liverpool will continue to monitor his situation before deciding whether to make a formal offer when the January transfer window opens.
