A 68-year-old man was killed in a fatal crash in Medina, Minnesota, after the Ford F-150 he was driving collided with a Mercedes-Benz on Highway 55.
The crash happened shortly after 10am on Saturday, 3 October, just west of County Road 116, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Investigators said the Mercedes was travelling westbound when it collided with the Ford as the pickup was making a left turn from southbound to eastbound.
The Ford driver was not wearing a seat belt and died at the scene. He was from Cape Coral, Florida, the State Patrol said.
The Mercedes driver, named as 75-year-old Randall Thomas Lofgren, and his 29-year-old passenger, Anthony Deandre Clarke, both suffered injuries that were not life-threatening. They were taken to North Memorial Robbinsdale hospital.
Both men in the Mercedes were wearing seat belts, and no alcohol use was suspected, according to the State Patrol. Road conditions were reported to be dry.
Medina police, Plymouth police, Corcoran police, the Hennepin County sheriff’s office, Medina Fire and emergency medical teams assisted at the scene.
