My Kitchen Rules contestants Alisha and Deanne have hinted at a future on television after their elimination from the competition, saying they want their own spin-off show.
The South Australian best friends, who described themselves as “classy bogans”, left the series on Monday night after falling to the bottom of the leaderboard following Zoe and Zac’s instant restaurant.
“We need a spin-off show after this,” Alisha said.
The pair became known for their outspoken personalities during the competition and refused to soften their approach despite clashes with fellow contestants and criticism from viewers.
Deanne said their proudest achievement was not necessarily their cooking, but remaining true to themselves while appearing on national television.
“Being ourselves and showing Australia who we are,” she said. “Being proud to come onto the show, showing our kids what we can do, and I guess just doing it with your best friend.”
Alisha said she was particularly proud that the pair had stood their ground when they felt judged, adding: “We just learnt to laugh it off.”

Their time on the programme included a heated dispute during Angus and Simon’s first instant restaurant, when a discussion about whether green apple slaw needed more “acid or vinegar” escalated.
Alisha questioned contestant Tiffany’s use of the word “acid”, but later felt she had been singled out when judge Colin Fassnidge used the same term during his critique.
“We’ve been made to seem like we’re pretty much idiots. People think we just have no idea what we’re talking about,” Alisha said.
The disagreement culminated in Alisha walking out of the instant restaurant, with Deanne following her. The pair initially refused to return to the table before Fassnidge confronted them.
Fassnidge said he had been trying to make a point, telling the pair that Alisha had been discussing something she knew nothing about and suggesting she might learn if she stopped talking.
Despite the controversy, Alisha said the pair had remained “true and real” throughout the competition.
“I think that’s our biggest takeaway — we were exactly who we are,” she said. “It’s a lot to go on national TV and be who we are, and possibly cop judgment from people and what they think of our personalities.
“But we held our ground because we love who we are. Anyone who doesn’t want to be around us, well that’s your loss.”
Deanne acknowledged that viewers’ response had been mixed, saying public opinion appeared to change after Alisha’s walk-out.
However, Alisha believed the pair had ultimately won more support. “I think we got more love in the end,” she said, again teasing the possibility of a spin-off show.
The remaining My Kitchen Rules teams will head to Kitchen HQ on Tuesday night, where they will cook against the clock. The programme returns at 7.30pm on Seven and 7plus.
