Newcastle United are weighing a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yasin Ayari ahead of the January transfer window, with the Sweden international reportedly valued at up to €60 million.
The 22-year-old has attracted interest from several European clubs after impressing for Brighton and his country. Newcastle are understood to be monitoring his progress closely as they consider strengthening their midfield.

He has continued to build his reputation with performances at club and international level, including a goal in Sweden’s 3-1 win over Poland. Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also reportedly tracking the midfielder.
Brighton are in a strong position to dictate any potential negotiations. Ayari’s current contract runs until June 2027, while the club reportedly have the option to extend the agreement by a further year and are expected to exercise that clause.
Ayari is said to be valued at about €40 million, although Brighton could seek a package closer to €60 million. Any agreement could also include performance-related bonuses and a sell-on clause.
It remains unclear whether Newcastle will make a formal approach in the coming months. The level of competition for Ayari and Brighton’s expected demands could determine whether a January transfer is financially viable for the Magpies.
