Nicole Scherzinger missed the opening of the Pussycat Dolls’ “Buttons” performance in Warsaw after an issue with her in-ear pack delayed her return from a costume change, the group’s representative has said.
Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt began the song without Scherzinger during the Polish show, continuing with their backing vocals and choreography while her verses were left silent. Scherzinger joined the performance later.
The incident came during the PCD Forever Tour, which marks the 20th anniversary of the group’s debut album and is their first major concert tour together in nearly two decades. The current line-up comprises Scherzinger, Roberts and Wyatt.
Why Nicole Scherzinger missed the “Buttons” performance
The band’s representative said the technical problem occurred while Scherzinger was changing her outfit.
“During a wardrobe change, there was an issue with Nicole’s in-ear pack, which meant an unexpected mid-show change was necessary,” the representative told Us Weekly.
They added: “Rather than the Dolls stopping the entire show and disappointing the fans, the decision was made to fully switch Nicole’s pack, and unfortunately, the change delayed her from joining the other Dolls in time.”
According to the representative, Scherzinger was “devastated that the fans were let down in any way” and was looking forward to returning to Poland to make it up to them.
The Pussycat Dolls’ European tour continues in Antwerp on September 18, followed by dates in Paris, Zurich and Prague.
The group will perform in Birmingham on September 29, Nottingham on September 30, Leeds on October 2, Liverpool on October 3, Glasgow on October 7, Newcastle on October 9 and Manchester on October 10. The tour concludes in London on October 13.
