Lamar Odom says Jalen Brunson should be ranked among the top two NBA players, rather than sixth on ESPN’s recently revealed top 100 list.
The retired basketball star questioned the rankings during an appearance at LAX, where he was asked about the debate surrounding the order. Nikola Jokic was placed first, followed by Victor Wembanyama, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Brunson was listed at number six, a position Odom strongly disputed.
“How you gon’ be six if you won a championship?” Odom said. “Gotta be one or two.”
Odom’s alternative top five placed Brunson first, followed by Wembanyama, Gilgeous-Alexander, Jokic and Antetokounmpo.
He acknowledged that compiling such a list was difficult, adding: “It’s hard. They’re all great.”
Brunson is preparing for the new season and will attempt to lead the Knicks to another championship, with Odom arguing that the player’s final position on the list matters less than what he achieves on the court.
