Joao Felix has indicated he is considering a European return after telling AS he wants to play in the Champions League again. The Al Nassr forward made the comments after Portugal’s win over Norway.
Felix has enjoyed a prolific spell in the Saudi League since joining Al Nassr a year ago and has carried that form into international football, scoring twice for Portugal during the current break.
Joao Felix weighing up European return
The 26-year-old said he remains content in Saudi Arabia but is already thinking about a future move back to Europe. He is due to turn 27 at the end of the season.
“I am very happy at Al-Nassr. This will be my second year. At the end of the season I will be 27. I have it in mind to return to Europe, though perhaps not immediately,” Felix told the Spanish newspaper.
“I don’t know if it will be at the end of this season or the end of the next one, but I want to go back to Europe, play in the Champions League again and compete there.
“It is always different. Playing in Europe, playing in the Champions League, playing against the best teams in the world gives you extra motivation, and obviously I have that in my head.”
Felix’s recent European moves have not gone as planned, meaning he is expected to consider his next step carefully. However, his performances for Al Nassr have underlined his quality and revived the possibility of a return to the continent.
