Samsung is reportedly planning to bring its built-in Privacy Display technology to two Galaxy S27 models, rather than reserving it for the range-topping Ultra handset. Industry sources cited by ET News claim the Galaxy S27 Pro will join the Galaxy S27 Ultra in using the screen technology.
The panel, known internally as the Flex Magic Panel, is designed to limit what can be seen from either side of the phone. It is intended to provide privacy without the need for a separate screen protector, with parts of the display or the entire screen capable of being obscured when viewed from an angle.
Samsung introduced the feature with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, which uses a specialist OLED panel instead of the anti-glare Gorilla Glass treatment found on the previous model. Controls in One UI allow users to protect notifications and other parts of the display that may contain sensitive information.
Reports suggest the Galaxy S27 Pro will offer similar controls, allowing owners to restrict visibility of selected content rather than applying privacy protection to the whole screen at all times. The effect is achieved through display components that restrict the viewing angle, leaving the clearest image for someone looking directly at the device.
The reported expansion of the technology comes as Samsung is expected to revise its flagship line-up. Previous leaks have pointed to four models: the standard Galaxy S27, Galaxy S27+, Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra.
The Pro is also expected to sit closer to the Ultra in design, with both premium models reportedly receiving a more prominent camera bar. The reports suggest the Pro could take over the current Ultra’s price position, while the next Galaxy S27 Ultra may become more expensive.
Samsung has not confirmed the specifications, model range or pricing. The four Galaxy S27 smartphones are expected to be announced in early 2027.
