Two people were killed in separate Victorian road crashes overnight, including a 19-year-old motorcyclist and a male pedestrian.
The first collision happened at about 7.30pm on Friday at the intersection of Ballarat Road and Davitt Drive in Deer Park, Melbourne, where a Kawasaki motorbike struck a Toyota Corolla.
The motorcyclist died at the scene. The 43-year-old Corolla driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
About three hours later, emergency services were called to the Midland Highway near Magpie Road, south of Ballarat, after a car hit a pedestrian at approximately 10.40pm.
The pedestrian died at the scene despite efforts by paramedics. The 54-year-old female driver stopped and has spoken with police.
Investigations into both crashes are under way. Police have appealed for anyone with information, including dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact Crime Stoppers.
The deaths bring Victoria’s road fatality total for 2026 to 194 as of last Sunday, compared with 222 at the same point in 2025.
