A suspect was shot and arrested after allegedly fleeing from a hit-and-run in Orange County, Florida, and resisting attempts by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper to detain him.
Troopers were called to the area of Lakeville Road at about 9.24pm on Friday following a reported collision. The suspect is said to have left the scene on foot before officers encountered him nearby.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man did not comply with commands and troopers used a Taser several times as he resisted arrest. A trooper subsequently fired their weapon.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital. Officials have not released details of his condition.
The trooper was not injured. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is to investigate the shooting.
