A body has been found in the search for 17-year-old Kristijonas Demcenko, who went missing from Milngavie, north of Glasgow, on Monday. Police Scotland said the death is not being treated as suspicious.
The discovery was made on Friday in the Mugdock Country Park area, four days after Kristijonas was last seen at about 2.30pm at the junction of Mugdock Road and Douglas Street.
CCTV showed him walking towards Mugdock Road car park. He was wearing a black jacket, black jeans and black trainers with white soles, and was carrying a black bag.
A search was launched after he was reported missing. Police had appealed to the public to check dashcam and doorbell footage, while residents were asked to look in garden sheds and other outbuildings in case he had sought shelter there.
Formal identification of the body has yet to take place, but Kristijonas’s family has been informed of the discovery.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Friday, October 16, we received a report of the body of a man having been found in the Mugdock Country Park area of Milngavie.
“Formal identification is yet to take place however, the family of 17-year-old Kristijonas Demcenko, who had been reported missing from Glasgow, have been made aware.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.”
