Jimmy Buffett’s children have been questioned about their mother’s alleged use of ketamine and marijuana as part of a legal battle over the late singer’s estate, estimated to be worth $275 million.
Cameron Buffett and Sarah Delaney Buffett were asked about Jane Buffett during the disclosure process in proceedings involving Jimmy’s former financial adviser, Richard Mozenter.
Court documents state that the pair were asked to provide documents and communications concerning any prescription or non-prescription drugs taken by Jane from August 2023 onwards. The request specifically included ketamine and marijuana.
The children objected, arguing that the demand was excessive and sought “harassing documents” unrelated to the case.
The questions were raised amid a dispute over control of the Jimmy Buffett estate. Mozenter sued Jane Buffett, who later countersued him.
In recent legal filings, Jane alleged that Mozenter was preventing her from accessing accounting records she needed to determine her next steps.
Jimmy Buffett died on September 1, 2023.
