US Marshals are searching for Cedrick Crutcher, a 35-year-old man from Racine, Wisconsin, who is wanted on multiple felony warrants linked to allegations including child abuse, battery and fleeing from police.
Investigators say Crutcher stopped appearing in court last year and has since gone silent. Authorities have warned that he may be armed and should not be approached.
US Marshals search for Cedrick Crutcher
Jordan Underly, a Racine County Sheriff’s Office investigator and member of the US Marshals task force, described Crutcher as “a very violent individual” and said he had harmed several people during what he called a lengthy criminal career.
According to investigators, one alleged assault took place at a Racine flat in 2020 after an argument with a woman over missing phone chargers. They say Crutcher smashed her mobile phone before attacking her as she held her son.
“He ended up grabbing this female by her hair and throwing her to the ground. He ended up kicking her and assaulting her pretty violently,” Mr Underly said.
Prosecutors also allege that Crutcher attacked another woman that year following a separate argument. Mr Underly said he picked up a shovel and struck the victim approximately six times over her head and body.
The latest incident highlighted by investigators occurred in 2024, when a police pursuit that began in Milwaukee continued into Racine County. Crutcher is alleged to have travelled at more than 100mph in a 30mph zone before the chase ended in a crash.
Investigators say they found a substantial quantity of MDMA in the vehicle, described by Mr Underly as a trafficking-level amount.
The warrants remain allegations and do not amount to convictions. Racine authorities also caution that warrant information should be formally verified before any action is taken.
Crutcher is described as being 5ft 6in tall and weighing about 150lb. He is said to have tattoos on his face and neck, and links to both Racine and Milwaukee.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to contact the US Marshals tip line on 414-297-3707. Tipsters can remain anonymous.
“You’re going to be caught. It’s only a matter of time before we catch you, and you should turn yourself in,” Mr Underly said.
