Stella Parton is to give her first interview since the death of her sister Dolly Parton, speaking to Gayle King for CBS Mornings.
The full interview is due to air on Thursday, September 10, following the death of the country music legend on August 25. Dolly Parton was 80.
Her death was announced after what her representatives described as a brief battle with cancer. She died in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by loved ones.
Stella Parton, a singer and songwriter in her own right, is one of Dolly’s 11 siblings. She recently said that her sister had been willing to allow doctors to test experimental treatments if there was no hope of recovery, in the hope that the research could help others.
The interview with King will be broadcast on CBS Mornings, as tributes continue to be paid to Dolly Parton’s six-decade career and her work as a singer, songwriter, actor and philanthropist.
