A man was taken to hospital with a serious stab wound after an incident in downtown Phoenix early on Tuesday, October 6, which temporarily disrupted light rail services during the morning commute.
Phoenix Police said officers attended the area around Central Avenue and Monroe Street after reports of a stabbing. The adult male victim was treated by Phoenix Fire before being taken to hospital.
Police said a male suspect was located and arrested. His name has not been released, and authorities have not disclosed what led to the incident.
The crime scene affected light rail traffic in the area, while Monroe Street was closed between Central Avenue and First Avenue as investigators worked at the scene.
Valley Metro said the service was no longer experiencing significant delays by 10.35am, although commuters were advised to expect disruption while the investigation continued.
