A woman was shot by Houston police after allegedly shooting her boyfriend during a disturbance at an apartment complex in north-west Houston on Sunday morning.
The incident took place on Pinemont Drive, just east of Highway 290, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said officers were called to reports of an altercation between the couple. The woman allegedly opened fire on her boyfriend before shooting at officers at the scene.
Officers returned fire, striking the woman. Both she and her boyfriend were taken to hospital for treatment.
Their conditions were not immediately known. The circumstances surrounding the Houston police shooting remain under investigation.
