Kim Kardashian has been awarded one euro by a Paris court over the 2016 robbery in which she said she was bound and restrained at a hotel, with the decision also formally recognising her as a victim.
The compensation was reportedly the amount requested by Kardashian. She and her stylist, Simone Harouche, said the ruling was about accountability rather than the sum awarded.
In a joint statement, the pair said: “We are grateful to the French justice system for recognizing us as victims of the terrible events that took place in Paris in 2016. The experience was deeply traumatic, and its impact has stayed with us.”
They added: “Today’s decision is not about the compensation, but about accountability and recognition. We are thankful to the Court and everyone who supported us throughout this process, and we hope to now move forward and continue to heal.”
Kardashian previously testified before a French court that robbers broke into the hotel, bound and zip-tied her, and stole jewellery worth more than six million dollars.
The court also awarded 109,516 euros to the hotel’s former receptionist and 50,000 euros to the hotel.
Eight people were found guilty last year for their roles in the burglary. The latest decision brings Kardashian’s legal proceedings over the Paris robbery closer to an end as she seeks to move on from the incident.
