Kim Kardashian has sent Strictly Come Dancing star Chris Appleton a bouquet of white roses and a message of support as he prepares to make his debut on the BBC dance show.
The 43-year-old hairstylist shared a video of the gift on Instagram Stories on Friday, showing a card from his close friend which read: “Break a leg, you got this, xo.”
Appleton described the surprise as “the sweetest surprise” as he gets ready to take to the Strictly dancefloor.
The pair have been friends for many years, prompting fans to speculate that Kardashian could appear in the audience to cheer him on during the series.
Appleton has also revealed that he has received advice from another famous friend, Chrishell Stause, who previously competed on the US version of the show, Dancing With The Stars.
He said Stause’s guidance was to “just have fun and enjoy every bit, because it goes so quickly”.
Chris Appleton prepares for Strictly debut
Appleton is among the contestants taking part in the 24th series of Strictly Come Dancing, which will feature a new presenting team after Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly announced their departures during last year’s programme.
Emma Willis, Josh Widdicombe and professional dancer Johannes Radebe have been appointed as the new hosts. Willis said the three-presenter format remained “very open” as the production team worked out how they would share the programme.
“There’s no like for like, so no one’s kind of replacing anybody and at the minute it’s all very kind of open,” she said on The Rest Is Entertainment podcast.
Widdicombe joked that the new presenting arrangement would be “like total football”, adding: “We’re going to be moving everywhere.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One and BBC iPlayer at 7.25pm on Saturday, September 19.
