Kimberly Guilfoyle has returned to the US after leaving her post as ambassador to Greece and is staying with her former husband, businessman Eric Villency, in Florida, according to people familiar with the situation.
Guilfoyle, 57, left the diplomatic role last month following a series of controversies, including a dispute over a text message in which she allegedly asked Trump donor Eric Deters to settle a $100,000 American Express bill.
Guilfoyle and her lawyer said the message was generated by artificial intelligence and that Deters owed her the money. Deters has denied the allegations and is suing for defamation.
After spending almost three weeks at the official residence in Athens, known as Jefferson House, Guilfoyle moved out and flew back to Florida on October 30.
She is now understood to be living at Villency’s home. The former couple share a son, Ronan, who is 20.
“It’s not surprising that Eric would be there for Kim,” one insider said. “They share a son after all, so they’ve always been bonded by that.”
Guilfoyle has also been described as having a close relationship with Villency, in contrast to her relationship with her first husband, California governor Gavin Newsom.
Her return comes as she considers her next move and looks for a new home. In August, she was bought out of her share of the $8.5 million, six-bedroom Florida mansion she had purchased with Donald Trump Jr.
Guilfoyle and Trump Jr had been engaged for several years before their relationship ended. In September 2024, it emerged that Trump Jr was dating Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson while he was still officially engaged to Guilfoyle.
Trump Jr and Anderson married in the Caribbean over the summer. Guilfoyle had previously been appointed ambassador to Greece after Donald Trump was elected president, a role that kept her within his political circle while taking her away from Palm Beach.
Her departure from the diplomatic post has now left her largely outside the Trump political circle in which she was once a prominent figure.
People close to the situation have alleged that Guilfoyle remains angry with Trump Jr and Anderson. They have also claimed that she suspected Anderson of sending bikini photographs to a publication, an allegation not established in the material available.
There have also been claims that Guilfoyle worked with Anderson’s former partner, William “Beau” Wrigley, in an effort to break up the couple. Despite those alleged efforts, Trump Jr and Anderson went on to marry.
Guilfoyle has reportedly sought to maintain a public association with wealthy men as she rebuilds her life in Florida. Her return could also lead to an awkward encounter with Trump Jr and his new wife in the same social circles.
Villency has remained a source of support. In an interview with Greek broadcaster ANTI last November, Guilfoyle said: “I have a wonderful relationship with Eric Villency, the father of my son, Ronan.”
She added: “It’s a wonderful experience. We have 20 years of friendship.”
Guilfoyle has not publicly commented on her return to Florida or her future plans.
