Mark Chapman and Kelly Cates are reportedly dating after becoming prominent presenters of Match Of The Day, according to reports. Chapman’s former partner, Clere Collier, is said to have accused him of starting a relationship with Cates before their three-year romance had ended.
Chapman, 52, reportedly ended his relationship with Collier in April. He has insisted there was no overlap between the two relationships and that he had remained faithful.
Collier, a Dubai-based mother-of-two and estate agent, is understood to have stayed in contact with Chapman after their separation. Reports claim she later became aware of his closeness to Cates and challenged him over the timing of the alleged relationship.
Chapman is said to have acknowledged the relationship with Cates but maintained that he was single when they began spending time together.
The pair became main presenters of Match Of The Day alongside Gabby Logan last season, following Gary Lineker’s departure. Their presenting shifts do not overlap, although they appeared together on Celebrity Gogglebox in July.
Chapman had already been closely associated with the BBC programme through his role as presenter of Match Of The Day 2 before taking on the expanded position.
The broadcaster was married to Sara Chapman for 19 years before she died from cancer in 2020, aged 44. They had three children.
Chapman is believed to have begun dating Collier in 2023, with her regularly travelling to the UK from the United Arab Emirates.
Cates is the daughter of Scotland and Liverpool great Kenny Dalglish. She was previously married to television producer Tom, with whom she has two children; the couple separated in 2021.
