Joey Ippolito may have helped O.J. Simpson dispose of evidence connected to the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, including a knife and bloody clothing, according to an account discussed by investigative reporter Harvey Levin.
Mr Levin said a report identifying Ippolito as the person who removed the evidence could be accurate. However, he stressed that any involvement by Ippolito would have come after the killings and that he was not an accomplice to the murders.
Ippolito has been described as a mafioso, drug dealer, convicted criminal and prison escapee. Mr Levin, who worked for a Los Angeles CBS affiliate during the 1994 O.J. Simpson case, covered the investigation from beginning to end.
He said his assessment was based partly on personal connections with people in Simpson’s circle at the time. Mr Levin has also provided a detailed explanation of the claim in a YouTube video.
If the account is accurate, Mr Levin said the murder weapon was thrown into a dumpster one block from his home.
