Patrick Clancy has said he believes he did “the best” he could during the events surrounding the deaths of his three children, despite facing intense scrutiny online during his ex-wife’s murder trial.
Speaking in an interview with 60 Minutes, Mr Clancy was asked whether he felt angry with himself or believed he had failed in some way.
“I think I did the best I could with what I had at the time, and I live with the outcome. I live with it every day, but I think I did the best I could,” he said.
Mr Clancy and his wife, Dr Rachel Danis, gave the interview after the case against Lindsay Clancy ended in a mistrial.
The defence has argued that Lindsay Clancy was suffering from postpartum psychosis when her three children — five-year-old Cora, three-year-old Dawson and eight-month-old Callan — died in January 2023.
Court records said Lindsay Clancy had sought help from multiple providers in the months before the deaths, had been prescribed numerous medications and had spent several days receiving inpatient psychiatric care.
