Chicago police are investigating an attempted child luring on the city’s South Side after a girl was followed by a man in a black sedan who offered her money to approach his vehicle.
The incident took place between 9.30am and 10am on Tuesday, September 29, in the 6300 to 6500 blocks of South Martin Luther King Jr Drive, police said.
The girl was walking south from the 6300 block when the driver approached her and followed her for several blocks. She managed to reach security officers for help, after which the man drove north along Martin Luther King Jr Drive.
Police described the suspect as a Black man aged between 30 and 35. He is believed to be between 5ft 9in and 5ft 11in tall, weighing about 150lb to 160lb, with a dark complexion and dreadlocked hair. He was reportedly wearing a black sweatshirt and black trousers.
