English wrestler Benjamin Satterley, better known as Pac, has died aged 40, All Elite Wrestling has announced. No cause of death was given.
Satterley, who was from Newcastle upon Tyne, was recognised for his high-flying style and performed for wrestling organisations around the world during a career that began in 2004.
He signed with AEW in 2019 and became the promotion’s inaugural International Champion, as well as a two-time AEW World Trios Champion.
His final match came on Saturday in Chicago, where he lost to Andrade El Ídolo in the AEW National Championship.
AEW said: “All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac.” The organisation added its condolences to his family, friends and fans.
Satterley began training at the age of 18 after developing an interest in wrestling through his aunt, who was a fan of the WWF, according to his booking agency.
He gained the nicknames “The Super Superman” and “The Man That Gravity Forgot”, and began wrestling internationally in 2007. From 2012 to 2018, he performed under the name Adrian Neville.
Tributes have been paid by fellow wrestlers, with Will Ospreay describing him as “the greatest export from our country” and “the greatest human being”. Ospreay added: “Honored to have shared the ring with you so many times. You truly are such a hero to myself and many others.”
Kevin Owens wrote: “The best lad… We love you,” while Alexa Bliss posted: “I cannot believe this. RIP PAC 💔”
