Robert Kelker-Kelly, the actor best known for playing Bo Brady in Days of Our Lives, died from arteriosclerotic heart disease, medical officials in Missouri have confirmed. His death was ruled to have occurred from natural causes.
Kelker-Kelly died aged 62 on 3 October, but the cause was not disclosed until nearly four weeks later by the Office of the Regional Medical Examiner in St Charles.
A police report said the actor had complained of pain in his chest and arm before he became unresponsive. Emergency responders attempted life-saving measures, but he could not be revived.
Robert Kelker-Kelly’s television career
Kelker-Kelly joined Days of Our Lives in 1992, taking over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell. He played the character opposite Kristian Alfonso’s Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna’s Billie Reed before Reckell returned to the part in 1995.
He went on to appear as Stavros Cassadine in General Hospital, as well as its spin-off Port Charles. His other credits included the television film Winter Heat and the drama series Touched by an Angel.
Earlier in his career, Kelker-Kelly appeared on Another World. He later moved away from acting and worked as a professional pilot.
His death was reported after police and emergency medical services were called to his home in St Peters, Missouri, following reports that he was unconscious and not breathing. Investigators said there was nothing suspicious about the circumstances.
