The Tennessee Titans have released defensive tackle Jordan Elliott after an alleged incident at the team’s facility in which he reportedly went to his car to retrieve a firearm following an argument with a team-mate.
The incident took place on October 15 and prompted an internal review, the Titans said when announcing Elliott’s departure.
Elliott had reportedly argued with team-mate JC Latham before being told to leave practice. He is then alleged to have gone to his car for the firearm.
Veteran team-mate John Franklin-Myers is reported to have intervened and de-escalated the situation.
No charges have been filed in connection with the alleged incident, according to the Nashville Metro Police Department.
Elliott had joined Tennessee during the off-season on a two-year contract.
A representative for Elliott was contacted for comment but had not responded.
