Arsenal are monitoring Sevilla centre-back Kike Salas ahead of the January transfer window, with scouts understood to have watched the 24-year-old in action.
Fulham are also reported to be tracking the Spanish defender, who has established himself as an important member of Sevilla’s first-team squad. Neither club is understood to have made a formal offer at this stage.

Salas started Sevilla’s 1-1 draw away to Espanyol on Sunday, a result in which the defender played the full match. The fixture is understood to have provided an opportunity for representatives from Arsenal and Fulham to assess him directly.
The Sevilla academy graduate reached 100 competitive appearances for the club last month. He has also become a regular option in defence under manager Luis García Plaza and remains tied to Sevilla until 2029.
That long-term contract leaves the Spanish club in a strong negotiating position, with Sevilla under no immediate pressure to sell. Any prospective buyer may therefore have to pay a significant fee to prise Salas away from the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.
Arsenal’s interest comes despite Mikel Arteta having several established central defenders at his disposal. A move to north London could offer Salas the chance to compete at a higher level, but regular first-team football may be harder to secure than it is at Sevilla.
Fulham could potentially offer a clearer route into the Premier League, although the west London club would still need to convince Sevilla to part with a player regarded as an important component of their squad.
Salas is expected to consider his options carefully if either club follows up its interest with a January approach. With his development continuing in Spain, a move that limited his playing time could prove a significant setback at this stage of his career.
