Bayern Munich are preparing a potential January move for Barcelona attacking midfielder Dani Olmo as they assess uncertainty surrounding Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala.
Olmo has established himself as an important player for Barcelona, making a mid-season departure appear unlikely. However, Bayern’s interest is understood to be growing as the Bundesliga club considers contingency plans in attack.
Sky Sports reported that Bayern are monitoring the Spain international amid interest from other clubs in Olise and Musiala. Olmo’s previous experience with RB Leipzig would also give him a familiarity with the Bundesliga.

Bayern are not generally inclined to sell their leading players, but there has been increasing speculation over Olise’s long-term future. Liverpool have been linked with the France international, while Bayern are keen for him to commit his future to the club.
Olise’s current contract runs until 2029, meaning Bayern are not under immediate pressure to reach an agreement. Nevertheless, the club will be wary of allowing the situation to remain unresolved into next summer, when the risk of his value falling could increase.
Musiala’s position is also being watched by other clubs after injury problems affected his progress. That uncertainty could help explain Bayern’s interest in Olmo as a possible replacement should they become more open to offers for the Germany international.
German football journalist Christian Falk said Bayern remain hopeful that Olise will stay, but indicated the club wants clarity next summer.
“Everyone at Bayern hopes that Michael Olise will play for the club for a long, long time,” Falk said.
“However, Max Eberl also told me in an interview that he wants a sign from the Frenchman next summer in terms of whether or not he can imagine signing a new contract. That’s because they can’t lose Olise on a free transfer in 2029.”
He added: “Everyone is hoping the former Crystal Palace star signs a new contract.”
