Bonnie Wright’s newborn son has been hospitalised six times in the five weeks since his birth, with the actress saying he is receiving treatment for a condition the family knew about before he was born.
Wright, 35, who played Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter films, shared the update about Aster in an Instagram post alongside a photograph of herself cradling him.
“Our sweet little Aster has been to the hospital 6 times in his 5 weeks of life. Getting treatment for a condition we knew he’d be born with,” she wrote.
The actress did not disclose the nature of the condition, but described her son as “such a strong, chill little baby”.
She also thanked family and friends for supporting her, husband Andrew Lococo, 42, and their three-year-old son, Elio Ocean Wright Lococo.
“Feeling so lucky to have such supportive family and friends. Helping take Elio to preschool, cooking us meals, checking in on us,” Wright wrote. “The village is possible, text/call your pals ❤️.”
The post prompted messages of support from fans wishing Aster well.
Wright and Lococo announced the baby’s arrival last month, revealing that he had been born at home on September 28. They named him Aster Sky Wright Lococo, after the star-shaped flower.
Sharing the news almost three weeks after his birth, Wright wrote that her older son had “showered” the newborn with love.
Photographs showed Aster sleeping in a striped babygrow and resting against his mother, while Elio leaned towards his younger brother’s pushchair.
Wright also thanked two birth helpers for “guiding us through the birth portal”. The baby’s name follows the couple’s preference for names inspired by the natural world, with their eldest son named Elio Ocean.
The former child star announced in April that she was expecting her second baby, sharing photographs of Elio resting against her growing bump.
