A 70-year-old man has been taken to hospital after an early-morning house fire destroyed a property in Mundijong, east of Perth.
Emergency crews were called to the home on Orton Road at about 3.20am, with fire engulfing the house while the man was inside.
Police assistance was requested about 3.45am as firefighters worked to tackle the blaze. St John Ambulance transported the man to Fiona Stanley Hospital, where he is understood to be receiving treatment for injuries that are not serious.
The cause of the fire has not been determined.
