Eminem and Kid Rock are reuniting for a new collaboration, despite their contrasting political views. The Michigan musicians will appear together on “7 Sins”, a track from Kid Rock’s forthcoming faith-focused album, Halfway 2 Jesus.
The song was listed among the album’s tracks this week, prompting questions from some fans about whether Eminem’s involvement was genuine. A representative for the “Lose Yourself” rapper has confirmed that he does appear on the recording.
Eminem and Kid Rock collaboration addresses political differences
The full song has not yet been released, but Kid Rock has indicated that its subject will include the pair’s ability to remain friends while disagreeing on politics and other issues.
In the album’s foreword, he described Eminem as an “old friend” and said: “His verse speaks to something we’ve talked about and that really needs to be heard: we differ politically and on other things, but we’ve stayed friends through it all.”
Kid Rock added: “We hope that sets an example for people who’ve lost friends or stopped talking to family because they think differently.”
The musicians have taken opposing political positions publicly. Kid Rock has been a prominent supporter of Donald Trump, while Eminem appeared at a Detroit campaign rally for Kamala Harris in October 2024 and encouraged voters to support her.
“7 Sins” is not their first musical connection. Eminem previously appeared on Kid Rock’s 1998 track “F*** Off”, from the album Devil Without a Cause, while Kid Rock made a cameo in Eminem’s video for “Berzerk” in 2013.
Halfway 2 Jesus is expected to be released on 17 October. The album will also feature Rascal Flatts singer Gary LeVox and Jimmie Allen on its title track.
