A one-year-old girl has died after being struck by a car at a private property in Smythesdale, regional Victoria.
The child was hit on Vermont Road at about 1.20pm on Monday. Smythesdale is around 20 minutes south of Ballarat.
She was taken by ambulance to a local park before being flown to Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital in a critical condition.
Police said the girl later died in hospital. Investigations into the circumstances of the incident are continuing.
