Filming has wrapped on the second season of Little House on the Prairie, Netflix’s adaptation of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s book series.
The drama was renewed for a second season before its first series had debuted. Set in Walnut Grove, it follows a family and the wider community through the challenges and triumphs of life on the American frontier.
Showrunner and executive producer Rebecca Sonnenshine said the new season had been shaped by a combination of returning cast members and new additions to the ensemble.
“All of our incredible cast additions this year have made this season in Walnut Grove absolutely magical,” she said.
Sonnenshine also thanked the production team and the show’s partners at CBS Studios, Anonymous Content and Netflix.
“I’m so grateful to our hard-working crew, who worked tirelessly to make this new chapter come to life, and our partners at CBS Studios, Anonymous Content, and Netflix for being our unwavering champions,” she said.
The second season will continue the series’ blend of family drama, survival story and frontier origin tale, drawing on the world of Wilder’s Little House books.
